Description

The day lands in the cash book without being retyped.

Accounting Basic keeps the cash book and the day close. When a shift closes, the Z-report is recorded; cash movements — takings, payouts, withdrawals — are entries, not notes. At month end the export leaves from the same books.

Why it matters

The problem it removes.

A Z-report in a drawer and cash movements in notes do not make a cash book.

Who it fits

For businesses that close the day and need the cash book to match it.

How it works

Three steps, in the same system.

Set it up once; the work then follows the normal flow of the business.

Close the shift

1/3

The Z-report is recorded when the shift closes.

Record the movements

2/3

Takings, payouts and withdrawals are entries in the cash book, not notes.

Export the period

3/3

At month end the export leaves from the same books.

How it fits

What it needs.

What has to be switched on for this module to work.

Nothing

This module runs on its own. No other module has to be switched on first.

What it opens up

Modules that build on this one.

Once this is on, these are the next steps in the same system.
