Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. They can keep a session working, remember a setting or, where analytics or advertising is used, help a provider recognise a visitor. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and pixels.

This policy explains how SOVRAN DIGITAL LTD uses these technologies on pos.sovrandigital.com and in the SovranPOS application. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

2. The public website

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, heat maps, session recording or any other visitor tracking. There is no consent banner for tracking because nothing on the site tracks you.

Our own pages use one functional cookie, sovranpos_lang, to remember whether the public site is shown in English or German. It is set from the visitor’s country on the first visit, or when you use the EN/DE switch, and it is sent back to us so the server can keep the same language on the next page. It contains no identifier, is not used for tracking and expires after one year.

Your light or dark theme choice is saved separately in your browser’s local storage under the key sovranpos-theme. It is read only by our own page script, is not transmitted to us, and stays until you clear your browser storage or change the theme.

3. The SovranPOS application

After a user signs in to the application, SovranPOS uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep that user signed in and to protect the session. The cookie is HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it. It ends when the user signs out or when the session expires.

Access to the application over HTTPS also relies on the normal TLS session. We do not use the session cookie for advertising, profiling or analytics.

4. Third-party services

The public website loads the Inter font from Google Fonts. The request sends your IP address and browser information to Google so the font can be delivered; Google Fonts does not set a cookie for that request. The Privacy Policy explains the legal basis and the safeguards.

The website is delivered through Cloudflare, which may process connection data and, if a request triggers a security check, set a strictly necessary bot-management cookie. Any such cookie is used only to protect the site, not to advertise to you.

The card terminal and the TSE used for fiscal signing may use their own cookies or local storage in their own interfaces. Those are operated under their providers’ policies and, for a venue’s terminal, under the venue’s arrangements with the provider.

5. No advertising or analytics cookies

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social-media pixels or third-party analytics. We do not sell data collected through cookies. If we introduce an optional analytics or marketing tool in the future, we will update this policy and ask for consent before the tool is loaded, where the law requires it.

6. Managing cookies and local storage

You can manage cookies and site data in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies, clear site data or delete individual entries. Blocking the strictly necessary session cookie will prevent you from signing in to SovranPOS. Clearing local storage resets the light or dark theme.

Useful controls are usually found under “Privacy”, “Cookies and site data” or “Storage” in your browser. The browser’s help pages explain the exact names. Because we do not track visitors, there is no advertising profile to opt out of on this site.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the technologies we use or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. A material change will be announced on the website or by email to business customers before it takes effect.
